Sesc Santa Catarina
Automating and innovating public-notice hiring with Plooral's Public Notice Mode.
About Sesc SC
Sesc SC is a private, non-profit social institution that operates across Brazil, with each state running its own operation.
With more than 75 years of history, it promotes social well-being and quality of life for workers in trade, services, and tourism, their families, and society at large. It is part of the Fecomércio System, alongside Senac, and stands out as one of the most active social institutions in the country.
It is present in 35 cities, with 33 units, nine community sports courts under the Sesc SC Comunidade project, three lodging facilities, plus networks of schools, gyms, restaurants, clinics, theaters, libraries, and more.
Challenges
We spoke with Tatiani, from the Selection and Development team at Sesc SC, to understand how their hiring processes evolved and the impact Plooral had on the business. As an institution subject to audits and oversight, Sesc SC needed to follow specific guidelines and ensure fairness and transparency at every step of selection. With a high volume of openings and applicants and a lean team (three analysts, one assistant, and one intern), operations demanded a lot of manual effort.
- Flexible control over notice stages
- Transparent, informative candidate experience
- Innovation in recruitment and selection
- Control over job and candidate metrics
- Time optimization and process automation
“On the previous tool we couldn't measure anything — we had no indicators, so it was hard to assess improvement in our process. We lost much more time; it was rigid, exhausting, and slow.”
How Public Notice Mode works
Public Notice Mode is the Plooral feature built for companies that run hiring based on public notices. Its main goal is to deliver transparency across the entire process.
When an opening is created, all stages and deadlines are predefined and made public. Each stage has a specific end date, as does the application deadline. Once reached, the platform automatically stops accepting new applications and informs interested candidates that the opening is no longer available.
To help candidates, the job description includes a timeline showing the end of each stage. As candidates advance, the platform automatically updates and publishes the names of those approved in each stage. For an exam stage, for example, the platform sets a specific date and time (such as noon) for announcing approved candidates.
When changes to a stage are needed, the HR team can make them and the addendum is automatically published to all applicants, providing easy and fast access to the update. At the end of the process, in addition to selected candidates, the platform also shows the waitlist, and the opening remains visible for a period — ensuring full transparency for everyone involved.
In short, Public Notice Mode promotes transparency, organization, and clarity in hiring. With defined stages and deadlines, candidates have access to precise information while the platform automates publishing of results, ensuring a level playing field and trust throughout the process.

The story told by those who lived the transformation of public-notice hiring at Sesc SC.
Platform implementation
Rolling out the platform at Sesc SC was an exciting and successful experience. From the start, the Plooral and Sesc SC teams met to map specific needs and co-design Public Notice Mode.
The team adapted well and suggested improvements as they used the platform. Suggestions were welcomed, and Plooral also contributed ideas to enhance the system. Even when not every request was implemented right away, constant dialogue and Plooral's support kept the platform evolving.
“Our team was eager to work with new features and was genuinely happy with the change. We met no resistance — we all wanted it to work; we wanted to transform and improve.”
Candidate adaptation
At first there was some resistance from candidates, since we had to communicate changes from the previous platform and website. The teams in charge of opening jobs at each unit also had many questions. Overall, however, the transition was successful and well received.
Throughout the process, the team offered continuous support and guidance to candidates, which strengthened communication. Previously, communication was largely manual, requiring us to look up contact information. Now it happens directly on the platform, with Plooral's support channels and Sesc SC's direct channels.
“We got closer to candidates and learned a lot from their experiences and feedback.”
Solution: concrete benefits for Sesc SC
The main gains identified by the R&S team after adopting Public Notice Mode.
Clarity and standardization
A clear view of stages for candidates, automatic publication of openings on the official website with detailed information, and a standardized presentation adapted to the specifics of each process — ensuring the transparency required by Sesc SC's hiring.
Advanced candidate management
Advanced features enable a more efficient, accurate selection, with candidates applying, sending résumés, and joining the process in a fully digital, integrated way.
Automated R&S processes
Automation significantly reduced the time spent by HR, freeing professionals to focus on strategic work while the platform simplifies and automates operational tasks.
Metrics and feedback
Measuring metrics across selection processes provides valuable input for analysis and decisions. Plus, collecting candidate feedback delivers insights into the experience and opportunities for improvement.
What changed in the candidate experience
With Plooral, it's possible to add screening questions and tailor the questionnaire and FAQ section with candidates' most common questions. The experience became transparent, fast, and seamless: start, end, stages, dates, and information are communicated automatically.
“People want convenience, speed, and agility. They don't want to waste time filling out endless tabs on a website. We've received very positive feedback from candidates about the platform's functionality, speed, and transparency.”
Conclusion
Plooral brought clarity, efficiency, and agility to Sesc SC's hiring. Through Public Notice Mode, candidates have clear, early access to relevant information, and automations drastically reduced the time HR spent on operations.
Measuring metrics and collecting feedback fueled continuous improvement in the institution's selection process — and Sesc SC keeps evolving, cycle after cycle.
